Once upon a time (such as last year), almost all the NCAA tournament coverage (except for the opening round game and a couple of Pacific-time lunch time games) was through CBS. The plus was you didn't have to remember which channel to watch. The minus was that you only got one game at a time. The internets however saved the day in recent years, as the NCAA made those games available online for free!
Things change in 2011
But starting with the 2011 NCAA Tournament things are changing! On the plus side, every single game is going to be on TV, live and in its entirety. No more screaming at the CBS monkey for showing the wrong game. The negative with this is that the games are going to be on four different channels, CBS, and three cable channels, TBS, TNT and TruTV, which is the artist formerly known as CourtTV. Make sure you find those on your cable or satellite system and check to see if they have HD (high-definition) versions available.
The schedule of the games is also slightly getting adjusted so as to prevent multiple games ending at the same time. This of course is not easy to do, because some games take longer than others, and that's before we consider overtimes.
Changes in announcer teams and studio coverage
Another interesting development is that the announcement and studio teams are merging into a giant "dream team" of basketball broadcasters. On the plus side, we are getting the one and only Charles Barkley in the studio, so we finally have someone who speaks his mind :)
TBS/TNT will also contribute one of the eight announcement teams, with Steve Kerr and Marv "I was wearing ex-girlfriend clothes before it was trendy" Albert. This means one of the eight traditional CBS duos is going to be left out. With Dick Enberg retiring, and Jay Bilas already having a gig at ESPN, Jay Bilas is indeed the odd man out.
Reggie Miller will also be joining in the Kevin Harlan and Dan Bonner duo, which is a big plus. The Ferengi ambassador to Earth was very pleased!
Sadly, still no Marques Johnson, so we have to suffer through games with idiots like Bob Wenzel and the more boring than watching-paint-dry boring duo of Ion Eagle and Jim Spanarkel.
Internet still free
The other good news is that the games will continue to be available for free online, and with computers and broadband getting cheaper infrastructure-wise, we should expect/hope that each year things will be better than previous online years.

Championship Week on TV (where to find the games)
Unfortunately this season we do not have the bandwidth to create detailed TV listings, but you can find the schedules at the various TV listing websites and also the websites of various TV channels. ESPN has improved their TV listings this year so it's a lot easier to find stuff. Most games are on the ESPN family of networks, with CBS jumping in during the weekend, and the Pac-10 on FSN (except for the final). CSTV, FoxCollegeSports, and Versus/Comcast usually have some games as well.

Plan your March Madness schedule ahead of time
If you are a hard core March Madness fan-addict, don't leave things to chance! Plan your March Madness ahead of time!
Here is the CBS Sports TV schedule, which includes the remaining games of the regular season, the conference tourney coverage, and of course their NCAA Tournament coverage which officially begins at 6pm eastern on Sunday March 15, 2009. A day we all love, Selection Sunday!
And while ESPN has no March Madness (except for the opening round game), they have plenty of games until the tourney begins. And they have finally cleaned up their TV schedule website, you can get very detailed day by day details of which games are available where. They (obviously) only list the ESPN family of networks, which pretty much covers most of the college hoops shown on TV.

2008 March Madness TV Listings
If you enjoyed our regular season TV listings, and our 2007 March Madness TV listings, you will be thrilled by our 2008 March Madness TV listings!
2008 NCAA Tournament TV listings
The National NCAA tourney TV listings were just published (March 17) at CBS Sports. The tourney games will be on CBS, CBS-HD, and CSTV (now CBS College Sports).
The play-in (cough cough opening round game) tips off on Tuesday night on ESPN and ESPN-HD, and squares off Mount Saint Mary's with Coppin State, the team with the 20 losses.
The CBS studio hosts will be the same as before (Seth Davis, Bryan Gumbel and Clark Kellogg), and the eight announcer teams are the usual faces, but with one addition. Youngster Carter Blackburn of CSTV will be "trained" by Dick Enberg (old enough to be his great grandpa) and Jay Bilas (tall enough to be his grandpa).
Action begins on Thursday at 9am pacific (noon eastern), and CBS decided to start things off with an intriguing game, Xavier facing off the Georgia Bulldogs, aka the Georgia Miracles!
You can also watch games live or repeats on your computer for FREE at NCAA.com. This is what they call March Madness On-Demand. They also have a "video library" of previous games and events. Or so they claim ;-)
The 2008 NIT TV listings
The TV listings are embedded in the brackets at the NIT website (embedded PDF file). Direct link to the PDF file right here (PDF file). Every single NIT game (31 total) will be carried by the ESPN family of networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and ESPN Classic.
For more details on the NIT tourney, check the NIT website.
The inaugural CBI TV listings
The games are available online and at Fox College Sports. Details here. Action tips off on Tuesday March 18, 2008 with two games, and continues on Wednesday with two more games. We are not sure which games will be available on local channels or regional FSNs.
