We are almost one month into the season so this is a good time to start looking into the RPI and SOS (strength of schedule) data.
Here is Ken Pomeroy's data: 2006-2007 RPI. It should not come as a surprise that Butler and Wichita State are #1 and #2 as they have managed some big wins on neutral/road games. Who is last? At #336 stands St Bonaventure, something that I'm sure makes the other Atlantic-10 teams really happy. Perhaps the A-10 can institute a good old soccer relegation and send their bottom teams to a lower-level division. The A-10 has 14 teams, and their RPI would significantly take a boost if they lost the bottom two (or even four) teams.
