TV what to watch, Monday January 22, 2007

January 22, 2007

  • 5am Monday: Penn State vs Minnessota, repeat I assume, Fox College Sports
  • 7am Monday: from 1988, Alaska Shootout, 1-hour Drive-thru edit, Cincinatti (Bob Huggins) vs Duke, ESPN-Classic. A Duke Loss!. Celebrate! ESPN is showing a Duke loss! Wow!!!
  • 11am, from 1997, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State, on ESPN-Classic, preparing fans for the 6pm Big Monday matchup of this season. Clever way for ESPN to use their tape library! Great feature ESPN. Please keep it up!
  • 11am, 9pm, 7am repeat, Memphis at East Carolina on CSTV
  • Pac-10 and WCC repeats on Fox College Sports
  • 4pm, UConn at Louisville on ESPN Big Monday with Dickie V! (I think). Prediction: The new small run and gun Cardinals win. Caracter will play 6 minutes and get four fouls in 3 minutes. In case you missed it, he was suspended over the weekend but may play on Monday. The soap continues...
  • 4pm, Women's action: Duke at Tennessee on ESPN2. Go Lady Vols! Beat the Dookies! Dunk on them Candance Parker!
  • 430pm, LIU at Wagner, on Fox College Sports
  • 6pm, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State on ESPN Big Monday. First one to 50 wins. Watch it only if you can stand the monotonous tone and predictable comments of Ron Franklin
  • 9pm, Gonzaga at Portland on ESPN. Well they may actually lose so it may be worth watching/TiVo-ing. Prediction: Zags by 20.
  • 7am Tuesday, 1-hour edit of the 1991 Indiana at Ohio State game on ESPN-Classic

Now why do you hate the Duke women? The Lady Vols are much closer to the Evil Empire in that sport.

LOL, that is a good point. I don't really have anything against Duke women's basketball, or anything else Duke. Infact, I don't even hate Duke men's basketball. My main issue is the smug cloud of Coach K and the preferential treatment they receive from the NCAA/refs/ESPN/etc.

I guess it's what they call the "spillover effect" in this case :)
