DeCourcy picks ten must see games on TV this season. With the looming tv writers strike, make that twenty :)
This one won't sit well in the Big East, but DeCourcy points out the simple reason why Big East only got six teams last year. And regardless of how many times Jim Boeheim appears on PTI and other ESPN shows whining, it won't change the fact that they didn't deserve it. And I agree :) Sorry to disappoint Syracuase fans, but the truth hurts. On the plus side, Johnnie Flynn looks like a great college point guard.
I also agree with DeCourcy on the scapegoating of assistant Rob Senderoff to cover up the mess by Kelvin "Are you in my Faves?" Sampson. They sender'ed off the wrong guy! (Sorry, I couldn't resist the bad pun!)
The Injury Repor(t) is long at USC, and OJ Mayo is not to blame for all of them ;-)
Goodman talks about the post-Orlando-Tragic Billy Donovan, a progress repor(t) on the UMass Pitinos, and some good news perhaps for a Texas freshman. Also Rice gets a player a year early, along with updates on Marshall, and Quinnipiac (is the school nickname "The Pollsters"?).
An update on San Diego State after the fires. SDSU lost Gotleib's brother as an assistant during the off-season after he decided to bolt for St Elsewhere. Two former former-ConferenceUSA transfers are looked up to deliver this season.
Xavier gets tougher with its scheduling, but worry not Musketeers, Greg Oden is gone :) Goodman also reports on OJ Mayo's first game at the Galen center. OJ Mayo mania? Also Arkansas head coach John Pelphrey was mixing it up, and Paul Hewitt jumped on the UAB bandwagon, a bandwagon I was on since last year, but don't count out on Mike Davis derailing it with his patented diva whinefests.
