Be sure to watch or record today's Outside the Lines because it is of college basketball interest! Their "First Report" is titled "November Madness" and talks about all the upsets we've had in this very young season. The latest one being Gardner-Webb upsetting Kentucky at Rupp Arena, along with two big ten schools falling to D2 teams at home (Izzo State, Ohio State). Gardner Webb's head coach Rick Scruggs (who looks a bit like Eddie Sutton) will join them. More details on this at the OTL page.
What's even more painful for Kentucky fans is that this loss means they lose a chance to play two additional games at MSG in the 2K Coaches vs Classic Final Four. So essentially they haven't just lost one game, they lost the chance to play two additional high profile games on national TV, in a prestigious event, on and off the court. Needless to say this is also ouch for ESPN and Dick Vitale who will have to talk about Gardner-Webb instead of Kentucky.
