Monday Night Hoops

  • A Sea of (Kentucky) Blue has a story of interest to all the other bloggers out there. Big Brother (the NCAA) revoked the press credentials of a newspaper blogger, because apparently the NCAA considers blogging live from a game a violation of their copyrights. Memo to the NCAA: your whole organization is a violation of student-athletes rights!. Fix that first, before you start chasing bloggers :-)
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one calling out ESPN to Free Andy Katz!. The CAA Hoops Blog also thinks that Andy Katz's daily blog should be free and promiment on the ESPN website.
  • Speaking of the new Andy Katz, Jeff Goodman at Fox Sports, his latest blog entry talks about Georgia Tech re-clinching Lewis Clinch, the first month on the job for former UCLA Kerry Keating as the new head coach at Santa Clara, who as you may recall pushed out Dick Davey after 30 years of coaching at the university (15 as assistant, 15 as head coach). Goodman also talks about Jordan's best man, and a former Sendek basketball player picked #30 in the draft (no, not the NBA draft, but the MLB draft!)
  • ESPN reports that two former head coaches at Tennessee and TCU die in their early 80s.
  • Gary Parrish has an update on Billy Donovan's new head coaching job at the University of Florida ;-)
  • Be among the first to scout the new players of the 2007-2008 season by watching some of the repeats of state finals and other games. TV schedule at Recruiting Wars. Included is a multi-repeat of the Lake Oswego (Kevin Love) vs Mater Dei game on Fox College Sports... And speaking of TV, ESPNU is showing repeats of college basketball games from the 2006-2007 season. Unfortunately until Comcast and ESPNU reach an agreement to carry the network, I am boycotting ESPNU TV listings. Memo to the remaining people with common sense at Comcast and ESPN: Please reach an agreement and carry ESPNU and stop acting like Paris Hilton divas!
  • Every 2007 NCAA College Basketball Tournament game on DVD!

    NBA Draft Coverage
  • Fox Sports has a cover story on the NBA draft, with a complete mock draft by Peter Schrager, another one by Jeff Goodman, and ranking of prospects, such as shooting guards, and point(s) guards
  • ESPN revisits the Guillermo Diaz story as a cautionary tale
  • ESPN has posted their Mock Draft 3.0, while Chad Ford has updated his Top 100 prospects list

The most flexible Father's day gift!, an Amazon gift certificate, ranging from $5 to $5000. This is a simple, yet very flexible way to pick up a Father's day gift.
