Live coverage from the ESPN family of networks!
Also right now on ESPN, on Outside the Lines First Report, in the Centerpiece segment, "Making the jump" talks about Billy Donovan's move to the Orlando Magic, hosted by Jeremy Schaap. The Donovan contract will be five years and $27 million. Reference to Steve Spurrier is made. They look back at other former college coaches trying the NBA hand, like Pitino. Interview with media-savvy John Calipari: "I'm happy he is taking a playoff team". Calipari gives an insight on the day-to-day differences between college and the NBA (dealing with media all the time non-stop)... Next guest is Adrian Wojo (can't spell his last name) of Yahoo Sports: Having Howard will help... He thinks Stan Van Gundy would do better with half the money.
Chris Sheridan says the hiring college coaches to the NBA is cycling back in and thinks Jay Wright and Tom Crean may also be giving a chance in the NBA in the future.
Dick Vitale thinks Anthony Grant will take over Florida... Vitale, a Florida resident, says Florida will survive and continue to thrive, just like they survived Steve Spurrier going to the NFL... Vitale wants to see incoming recruits to become "free agents" after a coach leaves... Nick Calathes will stay for sure... Vitale ends by asking Billy Donovan to "loan me some cash baby!"
Andy Katz said that Anthony Grant is scheduled to meet with Florida AD Foley in the next couple of days at an undisclosed location. Billy Donovan lobbied for Anthony Grant. Katz said that if Grant is hired, the players, the incoming recruits and the remaining assistant coaches will all stay put, including Jai Lucas... Katz also mentioned that Billy Clyde Glide Gillispie is trying to re-recruit Jai Lucas after the change.

Wall to wall coverage of Billy Donovan's decision to make exactly the same mistake Rick Pitino did. Something about the apple and the apple tree.
John Clay has wall to wall coverage, with predictions on the next Florida coach (his prediction is Anthony Grant). He has more than 20 links to stories covering Donovan's move! A must read!... Clay also reports that Billy Donovan will apppear on the critically acclaimed PTI (Pardon the Interruption) at 230pm PT/530pm ET on ESPN (not ESPN2). Also, a fun poll at A Sea of Blue, who is your least favorite college basketball media personality? It's no surprise who is currently voted as #1. I won't spoil the results but it's awesome baby!!!
It is bad pun day at Recruiting Wars.
Can't wait for the next season? A Sea of Blue's ticker says it is 134 days and 9 hours before Midnight Madness. 134 days is not _that_ long folks, is it?
