  • 2007-2008 SEC Preview of Alabama and Auburn at A Sea of Blue.
  • An early preview of Marquette
  • The NCAA is allowing Iowa/Alford transfer Tyler Smith to play right away without having to sit out because of family related issues. More on this at March Madness All Season, and The Hodge Report on CSTV, and Sportsline
  • Gary Parrish's Top 25 teams of 2007-2008 consists of 36 teams.
  • DeCourcy's blog at Sporting News talks about the top 10 college teams that were the winners and losers after the deadline for withdrawl from the NBA draft passed.
  • The Dirty Rat hopes to revive Duke basketball. Memo to Collangelo: Time to look for a new head coach!

    2007 NBA Draft
  • MSNBC's Beyond the Arc looks at the top point guards in the 2007 NBA draft.
  • Dick Hoops Weiss blogs that Portland will take Greg Oden as the #1 pick in the NBA draft
  • DeCourcy's blog at Sporting News talks about Mike Conley's shooting, ageless Yi Jianlian's prospects in the NBA draft.
  • Do you think you figured it all out? Done with the 2007 NBA draft? Then start thinking about the 2008 NBA draft. CSTV's Bryan Graham's mock draft for 2008 has OJ Mayo projected as #1. Will that really happen?

    New News
  • Nevada extends Mark Fox for three years, through 2014. He has to pay a quarter million dollars if he bolts out before July 2011.
  • An NCAA food-related violation that does not include Rick Majerus? It involves Colorado. They were apparently undercharging athletes for meals. Oh NCAA, can you please stop nitpicking and start tackling the real problems of college athletics?. But of course it's easier to nitpick on sandwiches, and whether two scoops of ice-cream are an NCAA violation, or a Subway sub with double meat is a violation, rather than dealing with the real issues... This was a "major" violation with a $100,000 fine that will go to feed the homeless. Football lost one scholarship but that's about it.
  • Basketball championship, then football championship, then basketball championship means only one thing: The AD is getting a big raise. An 11-year deal of up to $1.2 million per year, nearly doubling his previous pay.
  • The story I was talking about yesterday in the Big Ten Network post is getting bigger as the Big Ten Network Diva in Chief demands an apology from Comcast. Reality check for the Big 10: Your basketball games are mostly unwatchable slugfests, with the exception perhaps of Ohio State.
  • Andy Katz looks at four candidates for the New Mexico State job. Free story. The four candidates are all assistants, one of which is former Ole Miss and Arizona State head coach Rob Evans (currenttly an assistant at Arkansas)
  • Sutton State wing Obi Muonelo was arrested for being inside a bar. Terrel Harris was arrested for a bar-related violation earlier. Oh the silliness.
  • Lots of new news at CSTV's Headlines Archive
