Ricky Stokes out at East Carolina

  • 2007 NCAA College Basketball Tournament games on DVD!
  • Rivals reports that Ricky Stokes is finally out at East Carolina. This story had been buzzing around for a while. Will this start a late spin of the coaching carousel? Probably not, his deputy will likely take over, associate head coach Mack McCarthy (McCarthism involved in the firing?). Stokes was only there for two years. While East Carolina is just a compass jump away from North Carolina, they are centuries behind in terms of college basketball :) Don't expect miracles East Carolina! His replacement made the Sweet 16 as a head coach ten years ago!
  • In an interesting 10-part series of historical interest, Rivals looks at the top 10 teams of the "64 era", since the NCAA tourney expanded to 64 teams in 1985. Who's #1? They haven't revealed that yet!
  • Check the posts below for the weekly TV guide including repeats of college basketball games, documentaries and movies, including Glory Road on Encore Action and Starz Black.

  • Good news for NC State fans, Gavin Grant's legal issues have been resolved favorably
  • From ProFantasySports via the ACC Fan Blog we get a list of the top 10 returning ACC players. According to that list there are four players better than Tywon Lawson in the ACC. One could perhaps make an argument for Iverson-Lite (Sean Singletary) ahead of Lawson, but Tyreese Rice ahead of Ty Lawson? Come on!!! :)
