Live blogging the vote for week #13 of the blogpoll top 25

It is the time of the week again where we submit our blog poll vote! So what's our top 25 this week? We are deciding that while watching the Gonzaga at St Mary's game!

At #1, we'll go with something that might surprise some people who take the traditional AP/Coaches poll approach, and we'll vote for the best team as of right now, as opposed to the prettiest surface record. So that is a preface for picking a team at #1 that commits multiple fouls per possession. And as long as the zebras and the NCAA allow them to do that, and they don't have any major injuries, they are very hard to beat. Who is that? The UCLA Bruins!

At #2 we pick the Memphis Tigers, which are following the New England Patriots path at the moment, but they are not playing like a #1 team at the moment.

Kansas gets the #3 spot, but i'm still not sold that this is anything beyond an Elite 8 team. But we cannot vote "PASS", so teams have to be ranked higher than what they perhaps deserve.

The #4 spot goes to another team that is hard to beat, the Georgetown Hoyas. At #5 we would have picked UNC, but the Ty Lawson injury gets us to flip flop UNC with the Dookies.

The #7 spot goes to the Tennessee Vols by elimination. Who else could it be at #7?

Then things are so messed up, I might as well be throwing darts. To show the "mid-majors" some love, I'm putting Drake and Butler next. Are they top ten teams? At this point, who knows really? It's a mess!

Stanford's win at Washington State earns them a top ten spot, not just because of their win, but because their guards (sans Anthony Bads) they were able to handle the Wazoo defense and crowd, and do enough good and not enough damage to cost them the game. That was my biggest negative on Stanford, because inside they have the Lopez Twins and the under-appreciated Taj Finger.

Then a crazy team, the X-men get the #11 spot. Why? Because someone had to be #11! Continuing with the crazy teams theme, Texas is thrown at #12. They have high highs and low lows, is this the average? Who knows :)

Then we have two "wounded" teams, coming off losses they were not supposed to have. Wazoo and Izzo State are next!

Next up two teams with heat, the Calhoun Craziers who have been slicing and dicing the competition since they "lost" Dyson, and St Mary's who just beat Gonzaga in overtime - and with some controversial home-cooking mixed in.

Arizona is #18 assuming that the Pauley woodshed beating was a bad game, and not how they are going to play going forward. If their next games are like that, it's goodbye NCAA/NIT and hello CBI!

#18 is Lousville based on how they do with their full compliment of players since both Padgett and Palacios have been able to play, and Caracter is still there.

Wisconsin makes its top 25 debut after they beat Indiana at home and Tubby Smith on the road. Speaking of Indiana, the bottom has fallen out, their quality wins are just not there, and the DJ White/Eric Gordon factor can only get you so far. Having said all that, I'm still keeping them in the top 20 :)

Now four more spots. Oh where are my darts and my dice and my random number generators?

The SEC teams have been beating each other up like crazy. It's hard for me to pick any of them out, could be Ole Miss, Miss State, Arkansas, Vandy, Florida. For this week, none of them get in the top 25.

So at #21 we give Beasley and Walker the nod, partially thanks to their power win of the Bill Self First Round Exiters.

Assuming that D-James will be at full strength soon, Marquette finds itself at the #22 spot, while Purude gets pulled out of the hat at #23.

We are still on the Oregon bandwagon, although we are on the verge of falling off. The Nike Ducks are #24, but they have to start delivering wins or they'll end up having to win the pac 10 conference tourney again.

And at #25, we give Bob Knight a farewell by voting Texas Tech there, even though they are obviously not one of the top 25 teams :)

If we didn't pick Bob Knight as a farewell at #25, we would have picked Texas A&M there, since we couldn't find anyone else with a better resume to put there.
